Food was delicious! Service was outstanding! Decor and dining room vibes impeccable! We tried a variety of items and the iPad menu made it easy to browse and decide on food and beverages. The scallops appetizer was delicious. The Korean BBQ oysters was my far my favorite. The seasoning was perfection and it has that after kick of heat that made it stand out. I liked it so much that I requested the chef prepare my Korean short ribs with the same seasoning... he did and sent his "love" to us for the request so thanks Chef Ricardo!!! The crème brûlée was delicious, although we could have passed on dessert. The cocktails were tasty and on point with the pours. Service was timely and perfectly timed which is always appreciated. When in Reno or staying at the Peppermill, be sure to add Oceano to your must dine list.

Stopped in for lunch and ordered off the lunch menu. I ordered the Mixed Grill Tostadas. A trio of Tostadas, served with Halibut, Salmon and Sea Bass. topped with a Spicy Cabbage Slaw and a Jalapeño-Cilantro Crema. This dish was absolutely amazing. A friend had the Tuna Tataki Salad. It looked amazing. The ladies had soup and salad. The Clam Chowder here is one of the best. I always love the fresh, warm Sourdough bread they bring to the table. Always a favorite Our server, Marina, was nothing short of amazing. Always with a smile, she was always ready to accommodate our every request. Love Oceano.

I love this restaurant! I had my wedding reception here in the private room. It was amazing food and service. Some ppl got off the menu and most of us did the all you can eat sushi, which was so good. We're locals so we got the 20% discount if you join the club. I'm the worst but one of the Asian regulars got us champagne for our wedding. Thank you to him!! As we were not even planning to have it. Overall will be coming here annually for our anniversary. Great hotel, awesome restaurant makes you feel like you're in Vegas and lots of parking. There is food here for anyone and they take card :)

This is my go to venue when I am in the mood for sushi especially when I go for the AYCE (All You Can Eat) and I don't break the bank. I love the Nigiri sushi as it is not loaded down with rice leaving one to savor the topping. Same with the handrolls, more flavor, less rice. The atmosphere is most inviting and our server was extraordinary. I'll be back in September.

We've been regulars at Oceano since our first stay at the Peppermill when we moved to Reno years ago, visiting at least once a month ever since. Be prepared for a wait if you don't make a reservation, but don't worry--it's usually shorter than they estimate. If you find yourself in this situation, just add your name to the list and relax at a nearby machine or seating area; it's definitely worth it! Once seated, you're treated to warm sourdough bread and butter while you browse their iPad menus. I'll admit I missed a few options when they first switched to iPads, but once you get used to it, navigating the menu becomes a breeze. The staff is consistently friendly and eager to share their recommendations. We love ordering a few rolls to share, and the AYCE menu has plenty of choices to satisfy any craving. On our latest visit, everyone chose their favorite rolls, and we ended up with a delightful assortment: the Yoshi, Rainbow Roll, Eruption, and Firecracker. The fish was incredibly fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Oceano can get a bit noisy due to its large, open layout, but we were still able to chat comfortably. Oceano is always a favorite with my family.

Back once again. Yelp has designated us as regulars. Whoohoo! You have to book a reservation about a week in advance by calling the restaurant directly. They provide a iPad to look at the menu which is cool. Tonight Gisell was our waitress along with Sam her assistant. Both definitely provided excellent service making our dining experience exceptional. I started with a bowl of clam chowder and it was full of clams and was so delicious. I had the Bacon wrapped crabmeat stuffed Tiger prawns. And my wife had the Chilean Sea bass. What a great dining experience! 10+ for sure.

With a vibe that's unmatched, service that's on point, and food quality that's up there at all times, Oceano still ranks up there as one of the best AYCE sushi experiences. iPad menus? WHOA! Easy to read and navigate, these are fun at first, but then become a bit cumbersome because you'll want to keep them to refer to the menu and they're fairly large, plus any responsible diner would not want to damage them. One of my favorite aspects of Oceano is their ability to provide a consistent experience across a restaurant this size. Whether seated at the bar or a table, the food and experience are nearly identical, though I definitely prefer the bar so you can interact with the chef. The menu is easy to understand and order from, with full descriptions of each item and an accompanying sheet to check off for your server, and the food comes out so fast! Getting a reservation can be tricky. Small parties can reserve online but larger than 5-6 you'll need to call well in advance (like 2 weeks for a large party) or be prepared to wait a bit when you arrive. I called 10 days in advance for a party of 8 and could not get a reservation, so make sure you have enough time. While we had a good meal and enjoyed our time, the last visit left me feeling like some things had changed. Specifically the menu seemed a bit more narrow and limited, with the creativity and originality that drew me here not as prevalent, offering more of the expected combinations in the rolls and surprisingly missing some of the popular items available at other local sushi spots i.e. scallop nigiri and hamachi kama. Eventually I noticed that many of these items were now found under the a la carte menu, which was a bit of a disappointment, but the restaurant industry changes so fast and with the rising cost, I'm not surprised by the decisions. Nonetheless, it does change the experience. Still ranks in my top choices for AYCE sushi and I look forward to enjoying it again in the future.

We were staying at the Peppermill Resort and a friend recommended Oceano, saying they had great seafood. Sounded good so we didn't have to leave the property and stayed at the pool longer. We originally had an 8pm resie as that's all they had open, but were able to switch it to 7, thus our table wasn't as good at the side of the restaurant near the sushi bar. Our waitress was pleasant and service was efficient. We started with cups of clam chowder soup ($10/each), which were more like a bowl and could easily be split between two people. It was very good but super rich and we couldn't finish it. We then had the ahi tuna tower, with delicious red sushi, avocado and crispy won tons for $26. It was stacked with 3 so perfect appetizer. My husband had the oyster shooter ($14) which he enjoyed with Bloody Mary mix and tequila. We then split the Pacifica crab and shrimp sandwich with Jack cheese on buttery sourdough. It was a little cold as we saw it sitting there for 5 minutes. It was very similar to Nick's Rockaway in Pacifica and came with fries and coleslaw ($26). Very good but again very filling and we took much of it to go. They also had all you could eat sushi for $45 but it was a 45 minute wait. Many diners were having sushi so assume that was good. The atmosphere and decor was very nice and inviting, with tall ceilings, large screen with rotating global city views, and chandeliers. For a hotel restaurant, it was excellent.

Out and out the best hotel restaurant in the united states. I'm even willing to overlook the fact that one must walk through a cigarette smoke-filled casino to get to the restaurant. There's seafood is outstanding. Third time in a row I've had the fried shrimp, and it can't be beat anywhere. Fresh, lightly battered, plump, seasoned to perfection, and plentiful. The french fries are nothing to write home about, but they're pretty good also. This time I had a calamari appetizer. It was some of the best calamari I've ever eaten. There's a clear dipping sauce that comes with the calamari that is out of this world. Order a side of this dipping sauce for the shrimp, and you won't be disappointed. The shrimp does come with a side of cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, and a small bowl of coleslaw. I'm not a tartar sauce fan, but this tartar sauce is pretty good. Service was fantastic. I was seated at the sushi bar, not my favorite place to sit, but dining alone, I wasn't ready to wait 60 minutes for a table. My order was taken promptly, and the server revisited my spot several times to check on progress and satisfaction.
